Tax Dates and Deadlines for 2019

A new year means new tax deadlines!! Here is just a list of the major tax dates and deadlines for 2019!! Mark them down on your calendar so you don't forget!

January 15, 2019

  • 4th Quarter 2018 Estimated Tax Payments Due
    • If you are self-employed or have 4th quarter income that requires quarterly estimated tax payments, those payments are due by January 15, 2019.

April 15, 2019

  • 2018 Individual Tax Returns Due
  • 2018 Individual Tax Return Extension Form Due
    • If you need more time to prepare your federal tax return, you can request a tax extension to push your deadline back until October 15, 2019. This request must be submitted by April 15th.
  • 1st Quarter 2019 Estimated Tax Payment due
    • If you are self-employed or have 1st quarter income that requires quarterly estimated tax payments, you must submit your payment with Form 1040-ES by April 15, 2019
  • Last Day to make a IRS Contribution for 2018
    • If you haven’t fully funded your retirement account for 2018, you have until April 15, 2019 to do so. This is the deadline for contribution to a traditional IRA, deductible or not, and a Roth IRA.

June 17, 2019

  • 2nd Quarter Estimated Tax Payments Due
    • If you are self-employed or have 2nd quarter income that requires quarterly estimated tax payments, those payments are due by June 17, 2019.

September 16, 2019

  • 3rd Quarter 2019 Estimated Tax Payments Due
    • If you are self-employed or have 3rd quarter income that requires quarterly estimated tax payments, those payments are due by September 16th, 2019.

October 15, 2019

  • Extended Individual Tax Return Due
    • If you requested an extension for filing your 2018 Federal tax return, you now must file your tax return by October 15, 2019 or it will be considered late.
  • Last Chance to Recharacterize 2018 Roth IRA Conversion
If you have converted a traditional IRA to a Roth during 2018 and paid tax on the conversion with your 2017 return, October 15, 2019 is the deadline for undoing the conversion
